Silhouette

I remember one night–
it seems long ago–
driving south at dusk
and looking longingly
at the mountains,
a silhouette,
the dip
and rise
of hips, the lift
of a shoulder.
Tonight I pull over
onto the shoulder of a
winding road to take in
the blue glass reservoir
as the sun goes down,
then return to the
driver’s seat,
hugging each curve
like a close call
the rest of the way
home.

I close my eyes and I am there with you.
Someday I will live there by the mountains…where I belong and feel the most at peace.
Thank you, Jena, for sharing this. I have a hard day ahead of me & this image will help me through.
